5.6 AGC (Automatic Gain Control)

This control adjusts the gain in the sonar’s preamplifier

dependent on the strength of the incoming echo signals. The

result is a filter-effect reducing noise and reverberation.

AGC........:

OFF

WEAK

*MEDIUM

STRONG

As shown in the menu, the AGC has four different settings:

OFF - no adjustment

WEAK - slow adjustment

MEDIUM - medium fast adjustment

STRONG - fast adjustment

Note that the AGC is sensing the echo strength in the audio

channel, and use this as a basis for a common adjustment for all

the receiver beams.
