Whenyouneedtoestablishaverticaldepthrange,whynotlettheechosounderchoose
itforyou.Onthemainmenu,setRangetoAuto.
Youcanalsodeneyourowndepthrange.Toestablishadepthrangefromthesurface
anddowntothebottom,setRangetoasuitabledepth,andStartRangeto0(zero)meters.
Aphasedareamayalsobeestablished.Thisisusedwhenyouwishtoconcentrateon
acertainandlimiteddepthrangeIfyouforexamplendsaschoolofsh150meters
belowthesurface,youcansetuptheechosoundertoshowthisschoolwithoutalso
providedinformationfromthewatercolumnoverandunderit.Tosetthisup,setStart
Rangetoafewmetersabovetheschool,andRangetoafewmetersbelowit.
Ifyouarebotheredbyinterferencefromasonarusingthesameoperationalfrequency,
trytosetStartRangeto10to20meters.Youwillthenavoidthenoisewhenboth
systemstransmitsimultaneously.
